In the summer of 2007, construction of the track for the Natrona County High School was completed. The project included a 400-meter track, two long jump and triple jump runways with four landing pits, a high jump area, a shot-put area, and an artificial turf infield striped for both soccer and football. CEPI completed the design for this project and also completed the design for the NCHS football field that was constructed in 2003.
In addition, CEPI is currently finishing up the design for the East Casper Activity Complex at Kelly Walsh High School. The East Casper Activity Complex consists of:
- 2 artificial turf soccer fields
- 2 regular turf football fields
- 12 tennis courts
- 2 discus areas
- 8 shot put areas
- A 100-meter warm-up track
- Multiple walking paths around the entire site
- And an additional parking lot
A challenging aspect of the East Casper Activity Complex was the grading the site. There is approximately 60 feet of drop from one side of the project to the other. It was difficult to accommodate large flat playing surfaces into this vertical relief. CEPI utilized a creative approach of decorative retaining walls to create landscaped spectator viewing areas for the activities. This project will most likely be constructed in phases over the next several years.
